Royal Residences: Venaria Reale and Stupinigi
Duration: 8 hours
Languages: IT, EN, DE, ES, FR

Included in the Unesco World Heritage Site list in 1997 the Savoy Residences were created with the ambitious idea to celebrate the absolute power of the ruling dynasty.

Our tour starts with the visit of Venaria Reale our “jewel in the crown” of the Savoy Residences. Venaria Reale, often called the Piedmont Versailles, is maybe the most ambitious realisation of the Royal Savoy Family who in this way wished to compete with the King Louis XIV. After very complicated and intelligent restoration works, we have the possibility to visit and admire the baroque residence, especially created for deer hunting, and its astonishing gardens.

After lunch in Venaria we continue with the visit of Stupinigi.

The famous baroque architect Filippo Juvarra created a hunting lodge for a European Court, a place for leisure and hunting as well as the favourite spot for solemn marriages and the residence of Napoleon in the early 19th C.
